Included in the Package: 
  • Specific age-appropriate lesson plans for grades K – 6. Lessons include detailed plans, black line masters, power point, video clips, and sample work. 
  • Plans for teachers to prepare for the school assemblies: to-do lists, song lyrics, video clips, instructions with video of bracelets, and school pledge. 
  • Resources for school administrators: sample letter to parents, brochure of why anti-homophobia education is important, PowerPoints for governing boards, teacher councils, and staffs, current statistics, relevant legalities regarding homophobia education in Quebec and Canada, and PDF government documents regarding homophobia education. 
  • Extra resources for staff: FAQs, additional video resources, age appropriate vocabulary, community organizations, and a list of LGBT children’s books. 

All individuals have the right to feel safe, valued, and accepted in their schools. Diversity is an integral part of the Quebec experience. Teaching children to celebrate differences, and to not to judge people based gender, family situation, or sexual orientation, will guarantee a future for ALL of our children which is free from harassment, violence, and prejudice.
