GOAL

GOAL

The Guidance-Oriented Approach to Learning (GOAL) is a school-wide approach to helping students build their personal life-work plan over time.  GOAL can begin as early as Cycle III in elementary school and carries on through to Secondary V and beyond!  GOAL activities are relevant to students' current interests and needs, often experiential in nature, and should always include a reflective component.

Academic and Career Guidance Content (ACGC)

In the 2016-17 school year, McCaig Elementary and  Rosemere High School will be the first two schools in Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board to incorporate the newly-developed Academic and Career Guidance Content into classes in Grade 6 and Secondary 3 respectively. Students in these schools will begin the process of building career profiles and developing an understanding of the world of work through activities which will be integral to the regular class content.

The new GOAL Post Online Edition is a great first step towards learning more about the GOAL philosophy and activities.  Additional GOAL resources will be added soon!
